This kit is for a front widening and lowering kit for any year model of Yamaha Banshee 350 that has front a-arm suspension. Some of the older Banshees have J-arms, which we do not have a kit for (sorry).
The kit uses all of the same components as the Banshee Widening Kit, except the shock widening components are not included. By widening the mounts for the a-arms, but keeping the upper shock mounts in the stock location, the suspension “squats” and lowers the front of the ATV by about 3 1/2 inches on the +6 inch widening and lowering kit. The +4.5 inch widening and lowering kit lowers the front by about 2 1/2 inches.
As an option, this kit can also be used with YFZ 450 shocks as a widening and shock conversion kit. This will not lower the ride height. We show a picture below that shows some slight grinding that will need to be done to your Banshee shock mounts to allow the larger aluminum shock eyelets of the YFZ450 shocks to fit in the Banshee frame. These modifications are pretty minor, and they do not affect the strength of the shock mounts. Again, this is an option if used as a widening and shock conversion kit. If you use Banshee shocks (stock or aftermarket) with this as a widening and lowering kit, no grinding is required.
Stock brake lines should be long enough to install either the +4.5” or the +6.0″ kit if you disconnect the intermediate brake line support on the a-arms to provide more slack in the lines.
Diamond J Customs does sell brake lines if you would prefer to use extended-length stainless steel braided brake lines with your widening kit.
